During Jesusâ time on earth, the topic of money and how it affects us was a core issue addressed in His teaching. Jesus understood that so much of our concentration and efforts in life can hinge on how we deal with money. Money has a deep impact on our lives and can be either a supporter or enemy of a joy-filled life. In all of the financial messages in the Bible, one point is communicated clearly: wise managers of their finances are those who make, give, save, and spend their money through God-given principles and personal sacrifice. </itunes:summary>

In our society there is a distinct attachment between what you make, who you are, and what your value is. Yet the gospel of Jesus Christ stands in stark contrast. For the follower of Jesus Christ, our spiritual portfolio matters more than our financial one.</itunes:summary>

In other words, do our beliefs need to translate into action in order to become real? The Bible says yes. Translating our right beliefs into right practice is critical, but how does this relate to justice? Most of us would say that we believe in justice. We believe that wrongs should be righted and those who are oppressed should be advocated. Yet most of us don't really do anything about the injustices we see in this world. In this area, our right belief never makes the jump to right practice. Justice is important to God, and He wants to make sure that it becomes a part of our witness as we go on mission for Him.</itunes:summary>

A commitment to honorable and holy sexual habits. Starting today, practice control over your body and use it only for holy, honorable acts. People who get tangled up in a web of sexual perversion are unhappy and not at peace. Their minds are flooded with untrue, unlovely, and impure thoughts that steal God’s ideal life from us. If you want peace in your life and joy in your heart, you must have true and right thoughts in your mind. Maybe you have already had sex. You can begin waiting today for practicing sex according to God’s plan. Perhaps your mind is filled with lustful thoughts, you can purify your mind as well as your actions. The God of truth is willing and able to make straight your twisted version of truthiness and set you on the path of personal purification. Today, they are as daunting as ever because of their accessibility, acceptability, and glamorization. A man no longer needs to worry about being seen purchasing a pornographic magazine at the local gas station. With only the click of a mouse, you can access much harder pornography at any time of day and without ever leaving your bedroom. Is looking at pornography wrong? Is it a sin to lust in your heart? Jesus gets to the heart of the matter, which is the matter of a pure heart (Matthew 5:8). Without inward purity, the outward life matters little. If we resist both the outward transformation and inner renewal that come with conversion, God cannot use us to our fullest capacity.</itunes:summary>

On a college campus, a math major may not relate well to a communications major or a New Englander may not naturally connect with a student from the Deep South. But does that mean their need for the gospel is diminished? Certainly not. Therefore, Jesus says, we need to make sure that we venture out of our comfort zone so that the gospel can saturate all places. When we get outside of our comfort zone, we give God a chance to mold us, mature us, and change us into who He wants us to be. But more importantly, we fulfill our call to be witnesses for Him in places we might not otherwise venture.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd">Acts 1:8 is our first glimpse into what it means to evangelize, make disciples, and live missionally. What are you doing related to God's mission on your campus or in your fraternity? When have you felt a God-nudge to step out and express the gospel on campus but were paralyzed by fear or uncertainty? There are many students -- and you may be one of them -- who naturally feel they're not gifted, trained, or equipped to spread the gospel as a witness. But Acts 1:8 tells us we can. Having received the Holy Spirit through salvation, you are filled with a TNT-like power that could rock your university, your church, and your circle of friends! All you need to do is plug in.</itunes:summary>
